Pun Inspiration: Writing
Within my circle of friends, my pen-chant for puns has been well documented. In fact, some have even marked me as the “pun master.” It is an honor, but I sometimes wonder if it is deserved. There have been times when I feel I’m just drafting off of other pun champions (shout out to my friends TJ, Austin, Katie, Elyse, and Matt who always help sharpen my wit). I certainly scribe for pun greatness, but I needed some direction finding my way there. So I grabbed my compose rose and have taken my first step over the starting line, to the outline.
And thus, this b-log was created.
I have sentenced myself to take on this challenge, but I won’t scrawl out this introduction for too long. Each post, I will select a topic or word of inspiration. Then, I will attempt to cram as many puns related to that topic – including visual puns – into a coherent post. Some will hopefully make me a caption of industry. Some will most likely just downright st-ink.
I hope you enjoy the results of my task and that I’m not just taking a jot in the dark. I hope some puns will strike a record with you and that you won’t script me a new one for making you groan so much. In return, I will do my best to live up to the title of “punny type.” Hopefully, I won’t gram-mar my reputation.
